Hoststar Designer offers you, starting with the DesignerPlus subscription, a developer mode in which you can make more detailed changes to your website with the template editor if you have a good knowledge of HTML and CSS.
After «logging into Designer», follow these steps:
You begin on the home page of Designer's editor and are thus in the «Site editor» view. Click left on the menu item «Developer».
When you enter for the first time in the Developer mode, a warning message appears, which you should read carefully. If you are sure that you can agree to these two points, activate the checkboxes and confirm by clicking on the «Continue» button.
You will now be automatically redirected to the developer mode overview. You have the following processing options:
Select the «sylesheet.less» file in the left area, for example, and then edit it directly in the right area.
You can save changes by clicking on the «Save» button at the top right.
Click on the «3-point» symbol in the upper blue bar. Select «Download Template ZIP» from the drop-down menu that now opens.
The «ZIP file» will be downloaded immediately. It is displayed at the bottom left. You can now continue to use it.
Click on the «3-point» symbol in the upper blue bar. In the drop-down menu that now opens, select «Upload ZIP».
You will immediately be taken to the «Site Settings» submenu «Custom templates» and then to the «Upload ZIP» area.
Here you can now «Choose file» and «Upload» it.
Click on the «3-point» symbol in the upper blue bar. In the drop-down menu that now opens, select «Manage Templates».
You will immediately be taken to the «Site Settings» submenu «Custom templates».
Your template ZIP is displayed here. You can now «Show», «Update», «Remove».
Click on the «3-point» symbol in the upper blue bar. In the drop-down menu that now opens, select «Documentation».
You will immediately be directed to the extensive documentation area.
Click on the «Preview» area in the upper blue bar.
The preview of your template is displayed immediately.
By clicking on the «Return to edit» area, you will immediately return to the developer mode.
